Dear Members,
The Club AGM is to be held at 11am on Saturday 15th March where we will be combining the Ladies and Gents club into one Unified Club.
To achieve this we need to elect ONE Committee comprising of a Club Chair, Club Treasurer, Club Secretary plus a Ladies Secretary, Safeguarding Officer (see below) as well as 5 Committee members. Current post holders are:-
Ladies Chair – Lilian Mustard (not standing for re-election), Gents Chair – Derek Harding
Ladies Treasurer – Terri Armstrong, Gents Treasurer – Kirk Stringer (not standing for re-election)
Ladies Secretary – Joan Gledhill, Gents Secretary – Michael Shepherd
Ladies Committee members – Mary Waldock, Irene Burn, Carol O’Connell
Gents Committee members – Bob Richardson, Josh Norris
In order for the Club to continue to be affiliated with Bowls England and Bowls Northumberland we need to have a trained Safeguarding Officer in place by May 2025. To ensure the Club complies with this demand a Playing Member has taken on this role. They are required to undergo a training programme as well as have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check carried out by May.
Playing Club Members are invited to nominate themselves or other Playing Club members (with their agreement) for any/all Committee positions (highlighted above). Nominations must be received by the current Gents Secretary Michael Shepherd by MONDAY 15TH FEBRUARY 2025.
We will then contact all Playing members with a list of the nominations for each position to enable them to take part in a paper vote at the AGM on the 15th March.
If a Playing Member is unable to attend the AGM, they can vote by post sending their selections, signed and dated by them, to be received by the current Gents Secretary Michael Shepherd by MONDAY 10TH MARCH 2025.
